About the position

The Nursing Instructor position at Jones College involves full-time classroom teaching on campus and off-campus clinical instruction. The instructor will conduct and oversee lectures, labs, and clinical sessions in accordance with the nursing curriculum. Responsibilities include mentoring and supervising students in diverse clinical settings, engaging in academic and career advising for students in the Health Sciences pathway, collaborating on curriculum development, and maintaining professional competence through ongoing education. The instructor will also participate in departmental and campus committees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee lectures, labs, and clinical sessions in accordance with the nursing curriculum
• Mentor and supervise students in diverse clinical settings, ensuring practical skills and professional behaviors
• Engage in academic and career advising for students in the Health Sciences pathway
• Collaborate on curriculum development, evaluation, and revision in coordination with other faculty
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and professional activities
• Participate in departmental and campus committees

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience
• Active and unencumbered registered nursing license to practice in the state of Mississippi
• Competency in teaching in an online format utilizing a learning management system and video-capturing software
• Clear criminal history background check
