About the position
Methodist Hospital is seeking a Perianesthesia Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Perianesthesia team. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to the overall care and experience of patients and their families. The position requires working in various areas of Perianesthesia, including Pre-op, Phase I/PACU, and Phase II/Discharge, with a focus on patient preparation and recovery assistance.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including taking vital signs and performing point of care testing.
- Assist nurses during patient recovery, including using SCD machines and helping with ambulation.
- Transport patients post-operatively.
- Document patient care activities in Epic.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant with current registration on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Completion of first quarter clinicals in an accredited RN or LPN program for LPN students or junior nursing students.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
