About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic Nursery Caregiver to assist with newborns through 2-year-olds in a classical and Catholic program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is 14 hours per week at our center near Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas. While a teaching certification or formal childcare experience is not required, as all necessary training will be provided, a love for working with children and a collaborative spirit with the lead teacher are essential. The ideal candidate will help provide a safe and joyful environment for the children. Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction on Mondays and Thursdays. This is an hourly position with childcare/nursery provided. Please note that no additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days as needed. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and classroom guidelines will be provided, and tutors will be trained in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards, based on the methods of St. John Bosco. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be actively living the Catholic faith, including having received all appropriate sacraments.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
  • Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
  • Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
  • Must complete a background check.
  • Must complete RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
  • Must be available to attend one mandatory training day on August 12, 13, or 14, 2026 (TBD) from 8am-5pm.
