Full-time - Mid Level
Akron, OH

About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to conduct medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the Veterans Administration's disability benefits process. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records electronically through a web portal and performing focused, in-person physical examinations on each Veteran. It is important to note that while you will be conducting these assessments, you will not be making disability determinations; that responsibility lies solely with the United States Veterans Administration. Your primary function will be to perform Disability Assessments on Veterans, ensuring that all findings are documented electronically as required by the VA through the web portal. This position is designed for those who are interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments. You will be expected to analyze data from medical records and examination findings to complete the necessary questionnaires and form medical opinions. Time management skills are essential, as you will need to stay on task and meet the requirements of the role. The Nurse Practitioner will typically assess 3 to 5 Veterans per day, working full-time from Monday to Friday, with hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. This is an in-person position, and you will not be required to treat patients or prescribe medication. The work environment is clinical, and you will be provided with training and continued support to ensure you are well-equipped to perform your duties effectively. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to serve the Veteran community while maintaining a set schedule during normal business hours, with no on-call requirements.
