Full-time - Mid Level
Deerfield, IL

About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in performing medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting Disability Assessments, which involves reviewing medical records electronically through a web portal and performing focused, in-person physical examinations on each Veteran. It is important to note that while you will be conducting these assessments, you will not be making disability determinations; that responsibility lies solely with the United States Veterans Administration. Your primary function will be to perform Disability Assessments on Veterans, which entails documenting your exam findings electronically as required by the VA through the web portal. This position is structured to allow you to assess 3 to 5 Veterans per day, providing a consistent and manageable workload. We are looking for individuals who are interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments and who possess the ability to analyze data from medical records and examination findings to complete the necessary questionnaires and form medical opinions. Strong time management skills are essential, as you will need to stay on task and meet the requirements of the role effectively.
