About the position
The Nurse Residency Program at Reading Hospital is designed for new nursing graduates from April 2025 to August 2025, providing a structured transition into clinical roles. This full-time position focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care while promoting patient independence and understanding. The program includes educational seminars, supervised training, and a comprehensive orientation to ensure new nurses build confidence and competence in their practice.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care.
- Delivers excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation.
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a Diploma, ASN, or BSN nursing program.
- Must have graduated within the last 12 months from a nursing program.
- Must have less than one year of nursing experience in a non-acute or acute care setting.
- Must possess a PA Temporary Practice Permit or PA RN License.
- Must have a valid BLS Certification.
