About the position

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at DMA White Bluff Clinic is responsible for providing primary care services under the direction of the Executive Director. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients, while collaborating closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team-oriented environment. The position may involve specialization in areas such as pediatrics or geriatrics, and requires comprehensive documentation of patient interactions and care in the EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status by obtaining health history through interviews and chart reviews.
• Perform appropriate physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and injections.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and health promotion.
• Document patient medical records accurately and timely in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Participate in peer reviews, staff education, and quality assurance activities.
• Identify opportunities for community outreach and development.

Requirements

• Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
• Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification from an approved program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in patient monitoring and strong verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a specialized area of clinical care (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics).
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
