About The Position

The Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America (BRCA) is committed to following its mission of Healing Patients. Healing Families. Healing Lives. Since the first patient was treated in 1978, BRCA has grown into the nation's most extensive burn system, providing quality burn, hand, wound, and reconstructive care. BRCA partners with hospitals across the country to offer a continuum of care from initial injury through long-term rehabilitation, ensuring no patient is turned away. Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its team in the critical care, trauma, and burn arenas. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed and participate in staff education.

Requirements

  • New graduates welcome
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Successful completion of PANCE
  • Maintain NCCPA Certification
  • Licensure in state practicing

Responsibilities

  • Focus is on the reconstructive care of patients.
  • Patient management of in the inpatient hospital, outpatient clinic
  • Team approach and collaborative environment.
  • Perform patient history and physicals
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays and provide diagnosis
  • Perform medical treatment and diagnostic procedures
  • Perform minor surgical procedures
  • 1st or 2nd assist during surgery, as required by supervising physician and/or training
  • Instruct and counsel patients on treatment plans
  • Preoperative and postoperative care
  • Medication prescribing may also be necessary depending on state/facility
