About the position

The P/T Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Practical Nursing Program is responsible for overseeing PN students during clinical rotations and leading practical skills lab assignments on campus. This role involves engaging students with active learning in both lab and clinical settings, assisting and supervising them with patient assessments, medication administration, and patient care procedures. The instructor will provide clinical instruction at various clinical sites, including long-term care, sub-acute, and acute settings. Additionally, the instructor is expected to create a clinical environment that fosters academic growth and professional development for students, engage in the evaluation processes of the Practical Nursing Program, and submit final grades and other program-related materials in a timely manner. Ongoing continuing education related to teaching responsibilities and clinical nursing practice is also a key component of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Engage students with active learning in the lab or clinical setting.
  • Assist and supervise students with patient assessment, administration of medications and patient care procedures.
  • Provide clinical instruction at long term care, sub-acute and acute clinical sites.
  • Create a clinical environment which encourages the student's academic growth and professional development.
  • Engage in the evaluation processes of the Practical Nursing Program to evaluate students.
  • Submit final grades and other program related materials in a timely manner.
  • Engage in ongoing continuing education related to teaching responsibilities and clinical nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Current registration as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in nursing practice.
