About The Position
Corewell Health is offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for full-time and $750 for part-time positions! About the unit 3 West is committed to providing high quality patient and family centered care for a patient population consisting of Medical/ Surgical patients. The focus on 3W are conditions of the Gastrointestinal tract such as small and large bowel resections, bariatric surgery, abdominal pain, GI bleed as well as urology patients. 3 west prides itself on team work and this has allowed the unit to receive the “Team Daisy Award” multiple times. It is also home to the Cotton Family Birth Center which has received the Baby Friendly designation by Baby-Friendly USA.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
