About the position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a crucial role in assisting Radiologic Physicians with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases through the administration and detection of radioactive drugs. This position involves maintaining documentation related to radioactive materials, performing calibrations on equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Radiologic Physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by administering and detecting radioactive drugs.
  • Maintain documentation of use and disbursement of all radioactive material.
  • Perform daily and weekly calibrations on radioactive equipment and instruments.
  • Maintain records on all calibrations and maintenance of equipment.
  • Comply and update records and files on all patients.
  • Identify, document, and report any incident or unsafe condition.
  • Maintain proper levels of supplies and isotopes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine technical program.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Willingness to be 'on call' as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations.
  • Annual completion of competency requirements.
  • Basic typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
