About the position

Helpmates is seeking a Bilingual Spanish HR Generalist to support the HR Manager and Supervisor with daily HR tasks. This role involves various responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, payroll administration, benefits processing, managing leaves, handling worker's compensation injury reporting, and ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles missing punches
• Processes payroll
• Issues manual, final, and bonus checks
• Creates and manages job postings on various platforms
• Conducts phone screenings and schedules interviews for qualified candidates
• Works with department leaders to identify required skills for openings
• Extends job offers and performs pre-employment screenings
• Conducts new hire orientations
• Processes benefits for new hires and handles open enrollment changes and qualifying events
• Holds meetings for open enrollment
• Audits benefit invoices (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
• Conducts employee verifications
• Creates and manages employee recognition programs
• Collaborates with staffing agencies and trains new agency employees on company GMPs and expectations
• Assists with creating job descriptions as needed
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, recommending best practices and reviewing policies
• Identifies departmental needs and suggests compliance best practices
• Processes and files documents in a timely manner
• Performs routine HR tasks related to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, performance, and attendance management
• Completes and issues disciplinary actions under the HR Manager's guidance
• Supports the management team as needed
• Performs other assigned duties
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs if in processing or warehouse areas.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing setting is required
• Experience working with GMP's
• Must be bilingual in Spanish
