About the position

The Associate, North America Payroll Operations at Morgan Stanley will support the day-to-day operations of the payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for the US and Canadian workforce. This role emphasizes a service-first approach and aims to enhance payroll capabilities while resolving issues for nearly 50,000 employees across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Support processing activities for semi-monthly and monthly Commissions payroll cycles.
  • Complete payroll transactions and prepare reconciliation and auditing reports for review.
  • Assist in the Payroll Incident Management area to fulfill requests and inquiries timely.
  • Audit preview payroll registers and correct identified variances.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and pay data templates for payroll transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on payroll operational experience.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like lookup and pivots.
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws and taxability of wages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workday HCM and/or ADP Globalview.
  • Basic understanding of payroll technology ecosystem (e.g., HRMS, Benefits, Finance).
  • Previous experience supporting Canadian payroll concepts.
