About the position
The Development Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting fundraising efforts for a nonprofit organization focused on ministry with young single mothers and their children. This part-time position involves coordinating events, managing social media, and maintaining the organization's website, all while collaborating closely with the Development Director. The ideal candidate should possess creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage details for all fundraising events.
- Organize, facilitate, and oversee auctions associated with events.
- Maintain the organization's website and social media platforms.
- Design and order decorations and signage for events.
- Recruit donors and manage follow-up thank you communications for auction items.
- Assist in marketing for events, including designing promotional materials.
- Participate and communicate as needed on respective committees for events.
- Take inventory of office supplies and request quotes/purchase when needed.
Requirements
- An Associate's degree or higher is a plus.
- Experience in event planning and fundraising preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
- Personal transportation for job tasks.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Canva for graphic design.
- Creativity in problem-solving and event planning.
