About the position

The Digital Content Specialist position at I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) focuses on creating and managing multimedia content, particularly short-form videos, to support NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). This role combines storytelling, technical skills, and digital strategy to effectively communicate environmental science and technology initiatives across various platforms, including social media and the NESDIS website.

Responsibilities

• Develop, script, shoot, edit, and produce high-quality videos and digital content for use across websites and social media.
• Collaborate with team members to conceptualize and execute content strategies that align with organizational goals.
• Oversee multimedia projects, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to branding guidelines.
• Adapt content for optimal performance on different platforms, including YouTube, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Track content performance and audience engagement metrics, using data insights to improve future projects.
• Work closely with VizLab team members to ensure cohesive messaging and visuals.
• Ensure all content adheres to organizational branding and messaging standards.
• Perform some social media work as needed.
• Create visual concepts using computer software to communicate ideas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in media production, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in digital content creation and video production.
• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
• Familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in camera operation, lighting, and audio recording equipment.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and their content requirements.
• Knowledge of SEO and video optimization techniques.
• Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Background in science is highly desirable.
