About the position

The Night Shift Press Operator at Graphic Packaging International is responsible for operating various printing presses, including F&K, Webtron, and Comco. This role involves preparing print jobs, monitoring press functions, troubleshooting defects, and ensuring high-quality production while adhering to safety procedures. The operator will also complete necessary paperwork and assist in unloading paper rolls after production.

Responsibilities

• Run all printing presses including F&K, Webtron, and Comco.
• Prepare print jobs by following the production schedule and reviewing job jackets for proper setup.
• Adjust register nip pressure and set up slitter blades as needed.
• Load plate cylinders, apply ink, and change inks as necessary.
• Visually inspect anilox rollers and blade systems to ensure readiness for production.
• Check print colors using a spectrophotometer and verify against print templates.
• Monitor colors during print runs and adjust viscosity and pH levels of ink as needed.
• Troubleshoot defects by evaluating issues and determining corrective actions.
• Complete Job Setup Forms and Production Report Forms for every print run.
• Unload paper rolls using a hydraulic lift after production is complete.

Requirements

• Previous press operating experience highly preferred.
• Ability to continuously stand and occasionally lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to analyze data and work rapidly.
