About the position

The Night Audit position at Moxy Santa Barbara involves recording, processing, and analyzing the day's closing figures while ensuring all credit transactions are balanced. The role requires attending to guest needs during night hours, including registration, checkout, and handling inquiries, while also performing essential audit procedures and maintaining nightly reports.

Responsibilities

  • Record, process, and analyze the day's closing figures.
  • Complete all required reports and ensure that the day's credit transactions are balanced.
  • Attend to guests' needs, including registration, checkout, and cashiering.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during night hours.
  • Perform guest registration and checkout procedures.
  • Accept payment for guests' accounts at registration and checkout.
  • Maintain a house bank and make daily deposits and accurate reports of receipts.
  • Cash checks and exchange currency for guests.
  • Accurately handle cash transactions and balance a cash drawer.
  • Acknowledge rewards members and returning guests.
  • Manage guest bookings and upsell opportunities.
  • Handle all guest inquiries and requests courteously and professionally.
  • Perform all audit procedures daily as set forth by the hotel and company.
  • Complete Daily Reports, Comp Reports, and other assigned reporting.
  • Balance all cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
  • Prepare the front office for the AM Shift and reset the day's business.
  • Maintain all nightly reports to inform day hotel management of overnight activities.
  • Act as PBX operator during the audit shift.
  • Ensure all wake-up calls are made in a timely fashion.
  • Assist/direct hotel guests and emergency personnel in case of an emergency.
  • Post charges for room, food, liquor, or telephone.
  • Make reservations for guests for restaurants, transportation, or entertainment.
  • Review current day's arrival reports and check special request reservations.
  • Attend all scheduled training and meetings.
  • Ensure awareness of special promotions and scheduled shuttles.
  • Practice safe work habits and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain lobby cleanliness and organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Experience in a front desk or customer service role preferred.
  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Considerable knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer programs.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, and POS.
