About the position

The New Home Sales Consultant at Clayton Homes is responsible for creating a world-class home buying experience by assisting customers in identifying floor plans, selecting options, and coordinating the construction process. This role offers a base salary of $40,000 plus commission, with unlimited career and earning potential. The ideal candidate will embody the Clayton Ambassador spirit, maintaining integrity throughout the sales process while developing expertise in finance, mortgage concepts, and local market trends.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in identifying floor plans and selecting options for their new homes.
• Coordinate the construction process to ensure a smooth home buying experience.
• Maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up with prospective buyers using the company's CRM system.
• Help select inventory, decorate models, and maintain the appearance of homes as directed by the manager.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home center traffic.
• Demonstrate features and benefits of display homes to prospects.
• Set appointments for home center visits using the prospect database and converting ad calls and web leads.
• Participate in all sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relationship-driven business to consumer sales experience, preferably at one employer.
• General understanding of the retail environment.
• Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured home sales licensing.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel and contribute to a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work required schedule, including Saturdays.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
• Ability to move and lift furniture, promotional items, etc. (up to 75 lbs.).
• Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.
