About The Position

Start your imaging career with a supportive team and hands-on learning environment at Platte Valley Hospital. We’re seeking a New Graduate Sonographer to join our imaging team in a PRN, as‑needed capacity—ideal for recent graduates or those completing an accredited ultrasound program who want flexibility while growing their clinical skills.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Applicable State License
  • MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasound credentials applicable to scope of practice
  • One of the following: Currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited imaging program, or Successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school, or A licensed ARRT (R) technologist selected to cross‑train in another modality

Responsibilities

  • Maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality‑specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams
  • Perform exams according to department protocols and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
  • Adhere to all radiation or MRI safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or image quality
  • Provide appropriate patient education, ensure patient comfort, and address patient concerns
  • Practice proper infection control and sterile techniques
  • Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to produce high‑quality diagnostic images
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions
  • Follow established protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and reporting equipment issues
