About the position

This position coordinates the scheduling for patient procedures and services, ensuring that all communications are timely and provide complete details of procedures, locations, and times required. The role involves maintaining multiple applications for scheduling, collaborating with internal and external partners, and ensuring that all paperwork is complete and preauthorization has been obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patients for procedures, post-operative appointments, pre-admission testing, testing, surgery, follow up and wait list process.
  • Notifies patients in-person and via mail of scheduled procedures, ensuring all communications are timely and provide complete details of procedure, location, and time required.
  • Maintains multiple applications for scheduling of procedures and collection of patient data, including scheduling location of procedure, medical staff, and clinical resources.
  • Completes accurate and timely journal entries and collaborates with both internal and external partners to obtain resources.
  • Maintains physician and/or surgeon's schedule and registers patients, ensuring demographic data is entered accurately.
  • Communicates schedules on a daily basis, reviews with advisor, updates staff with revisions, and posts schedules.
  • Acts as liaison with internal departments and external resources and agencies.
  • Coordinates to ensure all paperwork is complete and preauthorization has been obtained, and processes referrals for procedures.
  • Oversees documenting of procedures and resources, maintains and tracks service and procedure to ensure procedures and equipment usage are captured.
  • Contracts with vendors to coordinate delivery of equipment and ensures resources for procedures are maintained and available for scheduled procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
