About the position

The Network Float Practice Coordinator at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is responsible for providing administrative support across multiple satellite locations, including Weymouth, Brighton, and Londonderry. This role involves scheduling functions, customer service, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations in a floating capacity. The position requires travel to various sites to cover for other staff members and includes a mandatory 90-day onsite training period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, including check-in/check-out services.
  • Update patient information and answer incoming calls and non-clinical patient questions.
  • Assist with registration of new patients, including collecting demographic and insurance information.
  • Provide administrative support, including typing, filing, and scheduling meetings.
  • Independently complete projects such as producing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Screen calls and determine appropriate actions in response to inquiries.
  • Greet patients and verify their information in the Epic system.
  • Confirm patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Review patient alerts in Epic and reconcile necessary information.
  • Complete annual Registration Updates as needed.
  • Review appointment types and ensure necessary forms are completed.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and provide patients with itineraries of next steps.
  • Prepare confidential documents and correspondence.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings and compliance-related actions.
  • Answer phones, triage calls, and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
  • Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
  • No experience required, but 2 years of experience in a healthcare or office setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Institute policies and practices preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with peers and leadership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and pay attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with DFCI Epic and host hospital EMRs.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through on tasks.
