About the position

The Tier 3 NETOPS Administrator role within the Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program focuses on providing advanced support for network operations, including design, transition, and continual service improvement for both CONUS and OCONUS locations. The position involves leading complex support problems, coordinating with other operational staff, and performing critical platform upgrades. The administrator will be responsible for troubleshooting network issues, developing technical reports, and enhancing operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches.
  • Perform IOS and software upgrades.
  • Create, review, and publish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations in the KM system.
  • Troubleshoot system failures and accessibility problems within the network.
  • Monitor network performance, track usage, and develop capacity planning reports.
  • Develop and maintain IP address allocation tables.
  • Make recommendations to enhance operational efficiencies for network monitoring and management.
  • Update knowledge articles and handle 'how to' questions.
  • Support KM management by entering solutions into the Solutions database.
  • Facilitate engineering design data calls.
  • Lead new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects.
  • Work independently while providing leadership to the Network team.
  • Perform network ticket resolution and support ticket closure across Network OPS staff.
  • Complete initial categorization of Service Requests.
  • Use administrative access to provision new switches, routers, VLANs, and Krypto.
  • Research errors, incidents, and problems using administrative access to network components.
  • Route Service Requests to the appropriate organization for incident resolution.
  • Perform root cause analyses and complete problem resolutions associated with incident tickets.
  • Configure, deploy, manage, and maintain network monitoring systems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with poly or ability to pass Polygraph examination.
  • High School/GED + 9 years, or Associates + 7 years, or Bachelors + 5 years, or Masters + 3 years, or PhD + 0 years of experience.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II Certification.
  • Experience utilizing trouble ticket systems like ServiceNow.
  • Excellent customer service, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN and Unified Communication (UC) technology, tools, and services.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Network Administrator in a Network Operations center environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
