About the position
We are seeking a Neonatologist to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. This is a full-time position requiring 153 hours per month, which includes a combination of 24-hour call shifts and 8-hour rounding shifts. The facility features a licensed 41-bed NICU, level IIIb, verified by the state. The average daily census is between 30-35 patients, with approximately 800 admissions per year. The position includes in-house physician and NNP coverage 24/7, as well as an in-house transport team. Pediatric subspecialty services are available, excluding neurosurgery, ECMO, and cardiac surgery. There are also teaching opportunities available with medical students, pediatric residents, and family medicine residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for neonates in a level IIIb NICU
- Participate in 24-hour call shifts and 8-hour rounding shifts
- Collaborate with pediatric subspecialty services
- Supervise and teach medical students and residents
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in in-house transport team activities
Requirements
- Completion of Pediatric Residency
- Completion of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Experience as a Neonatologist or recent fellowship graduate
