About The Position

We are seeking passionate educators to assist the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education, and aligning with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum. In this supportive role, you'll contribute to creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families, helping to forge strong, supportive relationships. Your involvement will be crucial in assisting with the planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote various developmental domains, such as physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive abilities, and creative expression. You'll also play a key role in observing and assessing the children's development, aiding in the customization of the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child. Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess or actively working towards an Associate Degree in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or a related field, or hold a CDA credential.
  • Genuine empathy and understanding of children's needs and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities.
  • Adhere to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education.
  • Align with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum.
  • Contribute to creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote various developmental domains (physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive abilities, creative expression).
  • Observe and assess children's development.
  • Aid in the customization of the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Guide young learners towards achieving their School Readiness Goals.
