About the position
The Summer 2025 Internship Program at NBCUniversal offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the media, entertainment, and technology industries. Interns will work on significant projects, contributing to various teams while developing their skills and networking within the industry. This paid internship program runs from June 2 to August 8, 2025, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with specific schedules determined by business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support the digital insights team in designing, conducting, and analyzing primary research including surveys, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and user testing.
- Assist the NBC News Data Visualization team in creating charts, maps, and graphics for breaking news stories and reported features.
- Engage in data journalism by finding stories that can be told in new and visual ways.
- Collaborate with various teams to contribute to meaningful projects that impact the media landscape.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025).
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without requiring work visa sponsorship.
- Willingness to work in New York, NY.
Nice-to-haves
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong interest in the media and/or technology industry.
- Previous internship experience or on-campus leadership/projects a plus.
- Knowledge of HTML, C++, CSS (SASS, PostCSS, LESS), Java, Javascript, rxJava, Adobe Illustrator, D3.js, QGIS, Wireframing, Figma, Sketch, GraphQL, Microsoft PowerBI / Tableau reporting and visualizations.
