About the position

GDIT is seeking a Navy Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS) (Electronics Tech to help support the MARMC program in Norfolk, Virginia. This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. Must be a US Citizen. The role involves performing highly complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. The technician will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, direct complex engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work, diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions, and make necessary repairs. The technician will also participate in the development of electronic equipment, repair or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users, provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have supervisory responsibilities. The candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years specific experience gained in troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of specific systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly complex technical functions in support of engineering activities.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, modify, circuit test, calibrate and troubleshoot electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
  • Direct complex engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work.
  • Diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions.
  • Make necessary repairs to malfunctioning equipment.
  • Participate in the development of electronic equipment.
  • Repair or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.
  • May serve as a team leader.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • AA/AS degree or equivalent with 3+ years experience.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience.
  • Specific experience in troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of AN/USQ-153 ISNS systems.
