About the position

At TC Energy, we are Energy Problem Solvers, passionate about transitioning North America to cleaner energy while meeting the energy demands of today and tomorrow. We are currently looking to add a Natural Gas Scheduler to our Energy Marketing group, based in Houston, TX. This position will report to the Manager of Cash Trading & Gas Scheduling and will be part of an innovative team dedicated to building a business that leverages TC Energy's strong customer standing and solid financial base in existing gas operations. The Natural Gas Scheduler will be responsible for executing and managing nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas across various pipelines, including TETCO, Transco, TGP, AGT, MPL, Iroquois, and EGTS. This role requires a thorough understanding of transportation contracts to ensure the appropriate nomination of natural gas movements. The Scheduler will also track the movement of all physical gas transactions, maintaining an internal overview of contractual movements, storage changes, and imbalances. In addition, the Scheduler will interpret maintenance and operational issues to enhance the efficiency of transporting natural gas and will communicate with pipeline representatives to advise the trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions. Daily communication with customers and the trading team regarding physical positions and the movement of natural gas is essential, as is ensuring that positions in accounting and internal systems balance and reconcile with actual activity.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various pipelines.
  • Set up contracts on new pipelines and coordinate with internal groups.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of transportation contracts and nominate the movement of natural gas appropriately.
  • Track the movement of all physical gas transactions and maintain an internal overview showing the contractual movements of gas, storage changes, and imbalances.
  • Track and interpret maintenance and other operational issues to aid in the efficiency of transporting natural gas and monetization of insights.
  • Communicate with pipeline representatives as needed and advise the trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions.
  • Assist the trading team regarding the optimal use of transportation and storage assets.
  • Communicate daily with customers and the trading team regarding physical positions and the daily movement of natural gas.
  • Ensure positions in accounting and internal systems balance and reconcile to actual activity.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in a technical or business discipline.
  • 2 years related experience.
  • Proven computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ETRM Systems (including ENDUR).
  • Proven experience providing advice to commercial, accounting, and operations teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scheduling experience on pipelines adjoining those of TC Energy.
  • Proven ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
