About The Position

Epiphany School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Music & Performance Specialist Teacher for grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching music and/or performance arts to elementary-aged students.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, pedagogy, and various musical genres.
  • Proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental instruction.
  • Experience with directing and producing theatrical or musical performances.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Experience with a variety of musical instruments (e.g., piano, ukulele, percussion).
  • Familiarity with different theatrical and performance techniques.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music and performance curriculum for students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
  • Teach a variety of musical concepts, including singing, rhythm, music theory, and instrumental music.
  • Direct and produce school performances, such as concerts, plays, and other artistic events.
  • Foster a love of music and performance in students, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate the arts into the broader curriculum.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain and organize music resources, instruments, and performance spaces.
