About the position
Join our operations team where you will be influential in shaping our business strategy and ensuring we have the most effective operations. As a Multifamily Designer, you will be responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses and components for multi-family and commercial projects, as well as other industrial engineered products. This role requires you to work under the general direction of the Design Manager or GMO, where you will exercise discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis. You will have the opportunity to create your own career path and push your professional limits, effectively becoming your own boss in this role. In this position, you will design metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels utilizing adequate software, optimizing designs for maximum efficiency. You will also review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy, assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting, and ensure efficient resource utilization while initiating corrective action as required. Additionally, you will prepare various reports as required and perform other duties as necessary to support the operations team.
Responsibilities
- Designs metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels utilizing adequate software
- Optimizes designs for maximum efficiency
- Reviews orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy
- Assists sales and production with design service and troubleshooting
- Ensures efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required
- Prepares various reports as required
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience is required
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in related field/responsibilities
- Working knowledge and experience using MiTek software is preferred
- Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
