About The Position

This position is for a Multi-Skill Operator (MSO) in the Bakken region, specifically based in Dunn Center, ND. The role involves monitoring and improving oil and gas production, primarily at well sites. The MSO will act as a Safety Leader, upholding ConocoPhillips’ commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). The Bakken trend is a significant oil and gas-producing area in the Williston Basin, where ConocoPhillips holds substantial acreage and operates numerous wells. The MSO will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to well operation, maintenance, data entry, and safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • 1 or more years of experience requiring mechanical skills, including but not limited to: use, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment; general tasks requiring physical operation of equipment and machinery; performing inspection of equipment and machinery
  • Currently reside or are willing to relocate within a 50-mile driving radius of Dunn Center, ND
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work 10-hour shifts with flexibility to work different schedules as needed
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work 8/6 schedule Wednesday to Wednesday
  • Willing and able to perform/align with following (with or without reasonable accommodation): Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions; Work in several different geographic locations throughout a single work day; Work both in and out of a company-owned vehicle; Wear appropriate special safety equipment; Climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanks; Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull; Use hand tools to make minor repairs; Work weekends and be on call

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree/Trade certification or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology, or other related technical field or foreign equivalent
  • 1 or more years of experience in an environment prioritizing Health, Safety and Environment
  • 1 or more years of experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology
  • Basic level of proficiency in using production software Cygnet, SCADA (Wonderwear), eVIN
  • Works well with others to meet safety, environment, and production targets

Responsibilities

  • Accessing remote locations to check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures and flow on separation equipment, adjusting automatic and manual controls
  • Inspecting gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and attached piping components for leaks or unusual conditions and taking corrective actions
  • Gauging tanks for sale or transfer of crude oil and water
  • Operating and troubleshooting rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, testing wells and operation of sand traps and flow back equipment
  • Maintaining chemical injection rates, start up, and shut in wells
  • Entering production data into computer databases and reviewing outputs for correctness
  • Executing new facility walk-throughs, management of changes (MOCs), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs)
  • Regulatory work including agency testing requirements, change of status, tank & meter numbering for new facilities
  • Responding to alarms after hours or when on call
  • Implementing all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures outlined in the ConocoPhillips Management System
