About the position

The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a multifamily apartment complex in Norfolk, VA. This role requires strong leadership and customer service skills, as well as experience in property management. The manager will supervise a small team, handle tenant relations, and ensure the efficient operation of the property.

Responsibilities

• Market apartments, take applications, do credit checks, approve tenants and sign leases.
• Collect rents and log on computer.
• Deposit rents in the bank.
• Go to court and/or work in conjunction with an attorney to collect rents and evict tenants.
• Handle evictions.
• Inspect apartments prior to move in and after move out.
• Inspect grounds and apartments on a weekly and/or daily basis.
• Handle maintenance calls during business hours and assist after hours if needed.
• Ensure all work orders are entered in the Yardi Work Order system and turned over to maintenance for follow up.
• Run Yardi WO report each morning to review outstanding work orders with Maintenance Supervisor.
• Keep time for all on-site staff and turn in for weekly payroll payment.
• Approve all invoices for payment.
• Handle all tenant relations.
• Assist with advertising and marketing of apartment units.
• Maintain 'Make Ready Log' for vacant apartments being turned.
• Supervise all on-site employees and manage the on-site management office operations.
• Process all Yardi, AUM, and VHDA functions for tenants.

Requirements

• 3 years of property management experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer literacy, specifically with Yardi
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle
• Leadership skills
