About the position

Hickok Cole is seeking a Multi-Family Designer/Architect with 7-12 years of experience to join their dynamic team in Washington, DC. This role focuses on hospitality and multifamily residential design, requiring a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse team to develop innovative design concepts and translate them into clear presentations and construction documents, while also mentoring junior designers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to develop compelling design concepts.
  • Translate design concepts into clear presentations and construction documents.
  • Manage projects from conception through construction administration.
  • Coordinate with consultants (MEP, lighting, acoustic, security) for project execution.
  • Conduct code analysis (ADA/FHA/IBC) for compliance.
  • Oversee interior renovations and new developments in multifamily and hospitality projects.
  • Plan amenity spaces and specify FF&E materials.
  • Mentor junior designers throughout the design process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 7-12 years of experience in hospitality and multifamily residential design.
  • Strong skills in Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Bluebeam Studio, and InDesign.
  • Excellent 3D modeling skills.
  • Experience with code analysis and consultant coordination.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Valid work permit for the USA.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation.
  • Progress towards NCIDQ certification or architectural licensure.
