About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Neurology at AbbVie is a field-based scientific expert responsible for supporting the scientific and business objectives related to Neurology, particularly in the context of Parkinson's disease. This role involves engaging with healthcare professionals, providing education on disease states and AbbVie products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the company's presence in the medical community. The MSL will develop and execute territory plans, maintain relationships with external experts, and support research initiatives, all while adhering to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops, executes, and maintains high impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans.
• Identifies, gains access to, and develops professional customer-centric relationships with external experts in therapeutic areas.
• Delivers on territory plan objectives, meets assigned project deadlines, and achieves annual functional goals.
• Provides education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to healthcare providers and researchers.
• Continually educates self on market issues/trends and product knowledge relevant to business responsibilities.
• Supports research initiatives across development, including site evaluation and investigator meetings.
• Creates and maintains relationships with cross-functional partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences required; advanced degree preferred, doctorate strongly preferred.
• Greater than or equal to 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience preferred.
• Possess problem-solving and analytic skills to identify and translate territory and corporate needs into actionable objectives.
• Exhibits leadership attributes aligned with company-wide initiatives.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling and Active Listening.
• Must meet health care industry representative credentialing requirements.
