About The Position

Join Collins Aerospace as an MRO Quality Technician II (Final Inspection) and play an important role in ensuring aircraft components meet the quality and airworthiness standards required for return to service. Supporting repair station operations in Burnsville, Minnesota, this position helps maintain the integrity and reliability of aerospace products through detailed inspection processes and adherence to established quality procedures. Working closely with production and quality teams, you will contribute directly to delivering products that meet customer requirements and regulatory expectations. In this role, you will perform receiving, in process, and final inspections while reviewing documentation to verify compliance with workmanship standards and repair requirements. Responsibilities include interpreting technical data such as drawings and bills of material, documenting discrepancies, processing SAP transactions, and making product acceptance decisions based on inspection criteria and procedures. You will work across multiple product lines, support quality initiatives, and use inspection tools and methods to ensure products are returned to service accurately, efficiently, and with complete documentation. This position is based onsite in Burnsville, Minnesota and supports first shift operations, with standard working hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Candidates should have flexibility to support business needs, including overtime, extended workdays, and occasional weekend coverage as required. This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Must have at least eighteen months (18) of aviation related practical experience in the work being done or completed a formal training course that is acceptable to the FAA that was specifically designed to qualify the applicant for the job in which the person is employed

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain FAA Repairman certificate within 6 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with the inspection methods, techniques, equipment, and tools used to determine the quality and airworthiness of the product on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations have been done.
  • Previous experience using the various types of inspection equipment and visual aids appropriate for the product being inspected

Responsibilities

  • Perform product inspection tasks per inspection procedures
  • Maintain inspection records in an organized manner
  • Make decisions regarding product acceptance per product documentation and company workmanship criteria
  • Will be trained to be thoroughly familiar with the requirements and procedures set forth in the Repair Station Quality Control manual
  • Document product discrepancies per company procedures
  • Disposition product non-conformances as approved
  • Prioritize product inspection per schedule needs
  • Understand & interpret design data (prints, BOM's, etc.)
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Use proper inspection methods & equipment
  • Assist Quality in development of inspection methods and procedures
  • Capable of supporting multiple product lines
  • Answer quality & inspection questions
  • Maintain applicable skills, knowledge, & certifications as required
  • Complete SAP transactions per company procedures
  • Comply with EH&S policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE
  • Attend EH&S trainings as required
