About The Position

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, also referred to as MRI Technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI Technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. Here, you will be joining a close-knit, hardworking, and supportive team of caregivers that prioritizes quality patient care. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 6:00AM – 6:30PM, with weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives for the department. Maintain a safe, clean and economical operation. Coordinate and answers questions regarding scheduling, networking, informatics and patient information. Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination. Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation, contacts service if necessary. Provide copies of imaging studies in a timely manner. Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive and all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders. Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule. Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned. Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
  • American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) must be obtained within 12 months of hire/transfer
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatories

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting
