Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This involves interviewing patients, verifying safety for MRI procedures, positioning patients, monitoring their safety and comfort, performing studies according to protocols, reviewing images for quality, gaining IV access, and verifying patient data. The role also requires proficiency with RIS, PACS, and CD burning software, maintaining a safe work area, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required, sometimes outside regular hours.
