About the position

The Mortgage Loan Closer at U.S. Bank is responsible for preparing mortgage loan files in accordance with bank, regulatory, and investor guidelines. This role involves gathering necessary documentation, ensuring compliance, and coordinating the closing and funding of loan packages. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders to resolve issues and provide quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare mortgage loan files according to bank, regulatory, and investor guidelines.
  • Gather necessary documents and information within designated time frames.
  • Communicate with customers, clients, staff, realtors, brokers, counsel, and title companies to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.
  • Ensure compliance with bank, regulatory, and investor requirements and quality customer service standards.
  • Coordinate the closing and funding of assigned loan packages.
  • Calculate final closing costs and disburse funds.
  • Package and ship loans to the secondary market as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience, preferably in loan processing and closing activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge of loan processing, closing and funding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with full cycle closing from final approval to disbursement/closing.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit policies and approval processes.
  • Proficient skills in applying general accounting principles.
  • Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
