The Mohs Technician/Histology Technician position at Dermatology Associates Inc. is designed for an energetic and team-oriented individual who will be responsible for preparing and processing specimens for histological examination. The role requires a dependable person who interacts well with others and maintains a positive attitude while working in a laboratory environment. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with competitive pay based on experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Grossing specimens and ensuring each specimen is properly prepared for processing.
- Processing frozen section slides using a cryostat for diagnosis by the surgeon.
- Preparing and maintaining materials required for staining and histologic examination.
- Maintaining and evaluating equipment and reagent systems.
- Cleaning lab equipment and disposing of reagents as needed.
- Maintaining manual logbooks and filing slides.
- Maintaining laboratory procedures in compliance with CLIA and state regulations.
Requirements
- Experience embedding and cryo-sectioning specimens.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- HT certification is preferred but not required for the right individual.
