About the position

Dermatology Associates Inc. seeks an energetic, team-oriented Mohs histo-technologist. We are looking for an individual who is dependable, interacts well with people, has a positive attitude, and is a team player. This position offers both full-time and part-time hours, with competitive pay based on experience and education. The role involves working in a laboratory environment where the technician will be responsible for various tasks related to the preparation and processing of specimens for histological examination. The Mohs Technician will be tasked with grossing specimens and ensuring that each specimen is properly prepared for processing. This includes processing frozen section slides using a cryostat for diagnosis by the surgeon. The technician will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining the materials required for staining and histologic examination, as well as maintaining and evaluating equipment and reagent systems. Cleaning lab equipment, disposing of reagents as needed, and maintaining manual logbooks and filing slides are also key responsibilities. It is essential that the technician maintains laboratory procedures in compliance with CLIA and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in embedding and cryo-sectioning, be detail-oriented, and able to work independently. While HT certification is preferred, it is not required for the right individual. The work location is in-person at one location, and remote work is not an option.
