About the position

The Mobile Tractor Trailer Technician position at Foxtrot involves performing preventative maintenance and repair services on class 6-8 tractors, trailers, and other vehicles at customer sites. Technicians work under minimal supervision, focusing on proactive maintenance to prevent issues and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. This full-time role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate level troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks including tire replacements, brake adjustments, and electrical diagnostics.
• Conduct annual DOT Tractor & Trailer and Brake Inspections and perform necessary repairs to ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems and various vehicle components such as brakes, hubs, and fuel delivery systems.
• Provide accurate part information for ordering and pick up parts as needed.
• Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs to ensure watertight integrity.
• Demonstrate proficient use of cutting torch and welding equipment for mid-level repairs.
• Document damage to company equipment and complete work orders accurately.
• Operate assigned service truck professionally and maintain cleanliness and inventory.

Requirements

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience
• DOT and Brake Certifications
• Welding Certification preferred
• Experience in welding required
• Must provide own hand tools necessary for daily tasks.
