About the position

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician to join our Truck Service team, which consists of nearly 3,000 skilled technicians across over 280 locations nationwide. This role involves traveling to customer facilities or distribution centers with a fully equipped mobile service unit to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The technician will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient service, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles in a professional manner. Our goal is to ensure that every traveler returns to the road in better condition than they arrived.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to perform preventive maintenance services and repairs.
• Diagnose wear conditions and make recommendations to customers.
• Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and/or customers.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience in repair or parts shop preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays in various conditions.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination on an annual basis.
