About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. The company is seeking an experienced Millwright for a position in Mobile, AL. The Millwright installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with assigned duties checked frequently. No per diem is provided.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy

Responsibilities

Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings and written instructions in industrial establishments.
Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines.
Moves machinery and equipment.
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
Removes plant equipment, disassembles, repairs and reinstalls.
Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Complies with company and client job site safety requirements.
