About the position
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7-17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility. Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center currently has a full-time Milieu Manager position available.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical leadership and supervision to direct care staff.
- Works in association with the DON, CEO and Director of Clinical Operations to ensure consistency in care provided by the residential care staff and the clinical staff.
- Implements programming and provides ongoing training and supervision to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Coordinates and assigns direct care staff to the units facilitates accurate communication among flex pool staff.
- Assists with daily time and attendance.
Requirements
- Must possess demonstrated leadership ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic relationships as relates to adolescents.
- Knowledge of therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit setting and behavior management.
- Crisis management of aggressive behavior and CPR.
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a residential facility for children, of which one year must be supervisory.
- Five years of experience working with children, preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Prefer a Bachelor degree in social work or psychology.
- Handle with Care, CPR and First Aid certification.
