MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL - LEAD TEACHER

About the position

CCPS expects to have one lead teacher vacancy at each of the middle school summer school sites. Summer school will be an integrated experience that focuses on skills needed to access curriculum in the next grade and provide recovery services to students. The lead teacher assists the school administration in the preparation of, the supervision of, and the closing of the summer school program. Summer school will run in a 12 day session from July 7, 2025, through July 24, 2025, Monday through Thursday for 3 hours, 45 minutes. The workday is 4 hours, 45 minutes. The lead teacher will be required to work an additional 20 hours to prepare for students and ensure proper close out of the summer school experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school administration to finalize enrollment and coordinate student information.
• Create the schedule for summer school.
• Coordinate with supervisors for training and preparation.
• Work with the Department of Information Technology to ensure all students are entered in the electronic gradebook.
• Monitor student attendance and performance.
• Respond to teacher, student, and parent questions.
• Teach support sessions as needed.
• Enter final grades or distribute parent reports to home school administrations and counseling offices.

Requirements

• MSDE Certification is required.
