About the position
The Ayer Shirley Regional School District seeks a dynamic Science Teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. The role involves implementing curricula and activities that meet academic standards and Massachusetts frameworks, ensuring effective communication with students, families, and colleagues, and providing necessary support and accommodations to all students. The teacher will also participate in curriculum and professional development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions, while ensuring student engagement and managing classroom behavior. Compliance with school, district, and statewide policies and regulations is essential, as is accountability for students' mastery of academic standards. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards and MA frameworks
- Communicate effectively, consistently, and professionally with all students, families, and colleagues
- Provide support, accommodations, and attention to all students
- Participate in curriculum and professional development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
- Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom, managing behavior, and providing incentives
- Comply with school, district, and statewide policies and regulations
- Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required at a minimum
- A valid Massachusetts Teaching License in General Science, 5-8 required
