About the position

The Middle School Girls and Boys Basketball Coach position at Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School involves coaching young athletes in various sports, with a focus on basketball. Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver sports coaching sessions to individuals or groups
• Teach and demonstrate proper techniques and skills in various sports, such as basketball, cheerleading, judo, swimming, and martial arts
• Develop training programs and practice schedules to enhance athletes' performance
• Provide guidance and support to athletes in achieving their goals
• Monitor and evaluate athletes' progress and provide feedback for improvement
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among athletes
• Ensure the safety of athletes during training sessions and competitions
• Organize and coordinate sports events, tournaments, or matches

Requirements

• Previous experience in sports coaching or relevant field preferred
• Strong knowledge and expertise in various sports, including basketball, cheerleading, judo, swimming, and martial arts
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes of all ages
• Ability to manage behavior and maintain discipline during training sessions
• Passion for physical education and promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports
• Ability to educate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential
