About the position

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Middle School General Education ELA Teacher for grades 6-8 in the East Hampton, CT area. This full-time, contract position is set to begin ASAP and will continue until the end of the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality education in English Language Arts, working collaboratively with school staff to create a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach General Education ELA to middle school students in grades 6-8.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district standards and objectives.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and ongoing feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administrators.
• Participate in school meetings and professional development activities.
• Provide coverage for additional duties as needed, including lunch, recess, arrival, and/or departure duties depending on the teacher's schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Education, English, or related field.
• Active Connecticut Teaching Certification (or eligibility).
• Prior experience teaching middle school English Language Arts preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and inspire students in a variety of learning environments.
• Must be able to work onsite and maintain a consistent schedule from 8:15 AM to 3:20 PM on school days.
