We are looking for a Microbiology Scientist I who will be located at our US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX and will be responsible for performing method development/validation and executing compendial and non-compendial in vitro antimicrobial assays in support of Surgical and Vision Care projects.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out microbiological assignments with minimal direct supervision, including execution of established microbiological assays and the development/validation of new assays.
  • Evaluates project requirements and designs studies required to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Records experimental methods, materials, and results in laboratory notebooks, analyzes data and evaluates results, communicates effectively and presents findings at group and departmental meetings.
  • Coordinates and/or schedules activities of less experienced analysts.
  • Provides training to identified analysts.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external standards and collaborates with other Microbiology team members to accomplish necessary testing and meet project milestones.
  • Delivers all Safety Microbiology milestones according to plan.
  • Communicates effectively with project representatives/laboratory manager.
  • Ensures compliance to standard procedure and good documentation practices, and accuracy in completing documentation.
  • Conducts activities on time and in a quality manner, working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related scientific discipline strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of microbiology experience.
  • Good analytical skills and documentation practices.
  • Experience in working cross functionally with others intra and interdepartmentally.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience.
