About the position

Environmental Safety Technologies (EST) is an environmental microbiological laboratory providing clients around the world with analytical testing for some of today's most important corrosion and pathogenic bacteria. For over 30 years, EST has provided our clients with rapid responses to environmental outbreaks, FDA-clearance testing, and risk analyses. EST is looking for a Microbiologist at its facility in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of food and environmental samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay
• Various microbe enumerations
• Data entry
• Laboratory reporting
• Quality control
• Media preparation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (required)
• Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
