About the position

The position involves managing the systems development technical staff at Medical Mutual to ensure effective execution of projects related to the company's essential business applications. The role focuses on building relationships with business leaders, coaching technical staff, and aligning application solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of development staff and provides technical expertise.
  • Develops work plans, goals, and objectives, and evaluates project progress.
  • Advises IT Department peers on software and information infrastructure issues.
  • Assesses business area needs through onsite visits and proactive service.
  • Manages staffing, performance management, training, and scheduling.
  • Enforces internal and external security and privacy policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience managing business applications and customer-oriented systems.
  • 3 years of experience managing high-performance teams and budget management.
  • 8 years of IT and business/health insurance industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of multiple applications development methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated track record.
